Christine Suppes

Christine lives in Palo Alto, California and Los Angeles. She has been lead sponsor for fashion exhibitions at the de Young Museum in San Francisco (Yves Saint Laurent, 2008, Balenciaga and Spain, 2011 and The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gautier, 2012). She assisted in organizing and was a lead sponsor for the exhibition Rodarte, 2019 at National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington D.C. In 2018 she donated most of her couture collection to the de Young. With photographer Frederic Aranda she published Electric Fashion (SKIRA 2015) about her collection. In 2021, another book followed, California Elegance, highlighting the state’s personalities and landscapes. Christine has been connected to Stanford University for 40 years, both as the wife of the late philosopher Patrick Suppes and as a donor. She has a son, daughter and two grandchildren. In the late 1990s, she began one of the earliest online high fashion sites fashionlines.com which she continued through 2007. She has also published two novels under her maiden name Christine Johnson.
