Peter Dundas
Peter Dundas is the Co-Founder and Creative Director of his namesake fashion luxury brand, Dundas. Launched in 2017 with Co-Founder, Evangelo Bousis, the label was conceived around a timeless and seasonless structure of capsule collections to meet the needs of the Dundas clientele. The Dundas brand epitomizes the nomadic lifestyle of the glamorous fashion set. Each collection carries the unmistakable mark of fashion designer, Peter Dundas – embellishment, luxury, and sensuality.
Born in Norway, Peter studied at Parsons School of Design in New York. It was there that his obsession with shape and form began – something that would heavily influence his design roles in the future. Peter has since become known for his focus on complementing the female figure with his talent for cut and pattern.
In 1992, Peter worked as a design assistant to Jean Paul Gaultier for eight years, building up his experience, before moving to Christian Lacroix in 2000. There, he developed a sense of striking colors and patterns. Following his time at Lacroix, Peter went on to serve as Chief Designer at Roberto Cavalli from 2002 to 2005, which was followed by a stint at Emanuel Ungaro as Creative Director.
In 2008, Peter was appointed Artistic Director at Emilio Pucci, owned by LVMH. During his seven-year tenure there, Peter developed the brand’s history of glamorous, colorful, and patterned collections. Focusing on nightlife as a key inspiration, Peter took Pucci in a new, youthful direction and revitalized the Florentine house. It was under his creative direction that LVMH identified Pucci as a key future growth vehicle, branching into new product categories including shoes, handbags, and eyewear.
In March 2015, Peter returned to the house of Roberto Cavalli as Creative Director. He saw his second time at the label as a homecoming. In 2017, Peter launched his eponymous brand, Dundas. Dundas debuted on Beyoncé atthe 2017 Grammy Awards followed by his first show during Paris Couture in June.
In March 2019, Art of Elysium named Dundas the recipient of its Visionary Award for 2020, with the designer creating the decorations for its annual gala on the theme of "Heaven."
In April 2022, the Chicago History Museum’s Costume Council honored Dundas with the Designer of Excellence Award. Previous honorees include Sonia Rykiel, Hubert de Givenchy, Bill Blass, Bob Mackie, and Carolina Herrera
In February 2022, Peter enters the beauty sector with the launch of DUNDAS Beauty, a gender-fluid makeup line co-founded with his life and business partner, Evangelo Bousis.
This venture, in collaboration with Anastasia Beverly Hills, redefined luxury makeup, offering a seamless, high-end experience designed to make users feel their most beautiful.
