Alastair McKimm
Alastair McKimm’s distinctly bold and modern perspective allows him to consider fashion within any context. Born and raised in Northern Ireland, McKimm began his styling career in London after studying fashion design at Nottingham Art School.
McKimm’s talent for visualizing fashion through his clean, precise vision has resulted in working alongside brands and designers including Bottega Veneta, Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, Saint Laurent, The Row and Victoria Beckham, for whom he has consulted on campaigns and fashion shows. His editorial portfolio incorporates his long-standing relationships with noted photographers such as Craig McDean, Daniel Jackson, David Sims, Glen Luchford, Gus Van Sant, Inez & Vinoodh, Mario Sorrenti, Mert & Marcus, Steven Klein and Willy Vanderperre, alongside collaborations with a new generation of creatives including Amy Troost, Colin Dodgson, Drew Vickers, Karim Sadli, Rafael Pavarotti, Rahim Fortune, Stef Mitchell and Zoë Ghertner.
McKimm has published three books with IDEA: “An IDEA book about T-shirts” by Stüssy (2017), “MICA” (2020) and “JEAN” (2021).
McKimm currently holds the title of Editor-in-Chief of i-D.
